Award winning artist Marilyn Hogan is a Colorado native who is inspired by her beautiful surroundings, and is also involved in preserving them. Her love of natural beauty is expressed in her watercolor and pastel landscapes, with their bright, clear colors and bold forms. She is fascinated by the jewel colors and amazing light effects that can be achieved in pastel; and she loves watercolor because of the freshness and quality of light it imparts to a painting. She often paints plein air.
She has studied with several master painters, such as Steve Quiller, Buffalo Kaplinski, Dennis Rhoades, Dianne Grammer, Marji Eakin-Petty and Terri Lombardi.
